Hate Changing Water Filters? Check This Out!
I’ll bet one of the reasons you’re looking at water filter reviews is because you’re fed-up with changing the filters in your current water filter. I know I was, and that’s why I decided to give you some information on the New Wave Enviro 10 Stage Water Filter System. What you may notice from the name of this system is it mentions 10 stages and to be completely honest, how that works I couldn’t tell you.
However what I can tell you is this water filtration system will change the way you look at a glass of water forever. In fact, I’m going to put my neck on the line and bet that once you’ve tasted the water this system produces, you will never look back.
I can also tell you that if you’re worried about how well your water is filtered (and I totally understand because this can be somewhat difficult to know), you won’t have that problem with this water filter. The manufacturer, upon your request will send you reports detailing the fact that every filter sold adheres to the requirements from the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and they are NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified.
I’ve added this snippet of information not just so you can have peace of mind that your water is being filtered properly, but also because it’s not that well advertised on the packaging. Well, it’s not advertised at all actually but the information is at your disposal if you ask for it.
So, now I’ve dealt with how well the water is filtered let’s move on to some other information you will need to know before you make a final decision.
What Contaminants the New Wave Reduces
Are you ready for this? I hope so because the contaminant list is pretty endless.
- Chlorine and chlorine compounds. The latter of these is also referred to as THM which stands for trihalomethanes (just in case you come across it and don’t have any idea what it means).
- Odors that are caused by pesticides, herbicides, hydrogen sulfide and PCB’s which are manmade chlorinated hydrocarbons. The less you know about these the better in my opinion.
- Toxic heavy metals like organic arsenic, asbestos, cadmium and lead.
- Micro-organisms don’t get through this filter either, and the end result in your glass will be free from giardia and cryptosporidium along with numerous other nasty organic contaminants that can be a danger to your health.
What It Will Leave Behind
Contrary to popular belief, and I have found this out after many months of research, there are certain elements in drinking water that can be beneficial to your health. For that reason, the manufacturer has designed this water filter to leave behind inert minerals like fluoride, certain chlorides, potassium and magnesium.
Is It Easy to Use?
The simple answer to this question is yes. However, when you initially purchase this water filter it will only include what you need if you’re going to use it on your countertop. For those of you that prefer an under the sink type unit, you can buy the adaptor required separately.
Of course, installing it under your sink may be a little more complicated, but if you’re going to use it on your countertop you can have this model set-up in no time. You also benefit from an extra long spout that can be moved around for added convenience. The manufacturer has also thought about the fact that not everyone will remember when they first started to use their new filter, so they will happily mail you a reminder so that’s another worry off your chest!
The Best Bit – Filters!
You may have been wondering when I would get to this, but as they say it’s always a good idea to save the best until last. You can put a whopping 1,500 gallons of water through this little beast of a water filter before you need to change it. To put this in perspective, this is enough to last a family of four at least 12 months.
The replacement filters may be a little pricier than you would expect, but if you weigh up the cost of changing filters on most other models, it will save money in the long-run.
Other Considerations
Just a word of warning here, there have been complaints that the tap/filter valve doesn’t work properly. Whilst there may be cases when you have received a faulty unit, mostly it’s down to user error. Therefore, MAKE SURE you get into the habit of switching it off from your tap, and don’t use the control attached to the filter. It does state this in the instructions, but I know a good many people that don’t bother to read them!
If you do get problems, you have the choice to take up a full money back guarantee within 30 days, and the manufacturer also offers a 1 year limited warranty.
Overall, if you’re looking for a water filtration system that works effectively (and can prove it); in my opinion this is well worth the money. In fact, I think it’s really well priced. Just take a look at the offers Amazon currently have. You won’t be disappointed!
